I worked as a Fellow for Kenya Handy-Hilliard's city council campaign in Brooklyn, NY. I created social media posts and print marketing materials such as palm cards and door hangers for the campaign. My main goal when working on this campaign was to engage the audience through Kenya's voice. Through a cohesive brand, I spoke to the needs of the community. I made sure Kenya's values were at the forefront of every design and social media post. I contributed to this campaign by helping to create an informative, eye-catching, and easy-to-engage platform.
One of my tasks during my fellowship was to redesign the existing logo for the campaign. I went for a simplified version of the original logo. I find that a simple typeface with powerful colors speaks clearly and concisely to the audience. You can find the full brand guidelines I created here.

County Committee and Petitioning infographics; Instagram slide through post: 1080 x 1080 px
Kenya's goal during her campaign was to educate and empower her community. That started with teaching her community about local government. My goal was to make the information easily digestible and give the viewer resources to keep learning.
Instagram posts: 1080 x 1080 px
Social Media posts advertising canvassing events for Kenya For The People. Canvassing involves members of the community volunteering their time to help promote Kenya's campaign.
Instagram posts, including flyers for events: 1080 x 1080 px
More social posts that I created for this campaign include flyers for events, fundraising posts, and celebration posts. I portrayed a cohesive brand through these posts through color, typeface, and language.
